Important Notice:

On February 17th 2009, all analog over-the-air broadcasts will be shut down in the United States. In Canada, all analog broadcasts will be shut down on August 31st, 2011. If you rely on over-the-air transmissions from the United States and Canada, you will NEED an ATSC tuner in order to continue to receive the programming that you enjoy.

What does this mean to you? If you own a TV that was manufactured before March 1st, 2007, your TV is not equipped to receive the new transmission format.

This shut off date comes with advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages are: the picture you will receive from ATSC signals is much clearer than analog transmissions, it is easier to aim your antenna with the signal meter that is incorporated into many ATSC tuner's and there will be no more ghosting or static channels. The disadvantage is that you will require an ATSC tuner.

The ATSC Tuner shown below boasts an excellent list of features.
